I feel like I have been in front of the camera a lot lately and this time I have some great shots to show for it! My beautiful friend Dawni did a great job of making me look fabulous! I have so many favorites which doesn't happen very often, I highly recommend her! Watch for some of these photos to start popping up all over the place! Maybe you could help me pick a few favorites? Please? I thought this was a great way to bring in my 37th year of life!
Michelle and Judy from Lake Superior, Minn. brought in some cool pottery pieces that they had bought in their travels that they wanted to make into jewelry. They had to adjust the angles of the sides a little so that we could set them into bezels and I think they turned out pretty cool! They made them mountain shaped to remember their trip to Utah and I think their shapes accented the pottery nicely! Good job ladies!
I love making custom orders especially when people bring in items that are sentimental to them! Tammy from Tampa, Fl. had these great pieces of sea glass that she wanted made into a matching set. We talked about the design and I really like the result!
I had the pleasure of working in my studio with Terry Graziano, a very talented and beautiful artist from Chicago. When she gave me her business card with a fabulous photo of her in one of her hats I had to go to the computer immediately! When I pulled up her portfolio I was in awe. I had never seen such beautiful, fun and sassy hats, and versatile! Each of her designs can be worn in multiple ways and totally change the personality of the hat depending on how you put it on. I am getting one and I am so excited, I may have to have three or four but I am excited to start with one. Now I just have to decide... To be continued later when I have a photo of me in my new fabulous hat! I like that she models her own art, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Here she is in one of the many that caught my eye! The Accomplice in Mulberry:
Here is a blog post she wrote about her experience at Sundance and wearing her spectacular hematite ring she made! Check her out, you'll be glad you did!
Excerpt: "Now, can we talk about my ring? It is silver with a huge hematite stone and I adore it! Even better, I made it in a terrific silver-smithing class, taught by the very talented and supremely patient Brittany Golden. Brittany made it so easy to overcome my timidity and to make sure that the end result was something I would love and be proud to wear. Using a torch for the first time, hammering the band, even the feel of the components - it was all so foreign to me, but really sparked a desire to continue to explore. Brittany was so inspiring - her work is amazing - and I cannot thank her enough!" Thank you Terry!
